Committees

Advocacy Committee
The Advocacy Committee provides advice and recommendations on issues impacting the practice of chiropractic pediatrics. It works to protect and enhance the ability of Pediatric Diplomate members to practice both in the United States and internationally.

Conference Committee
The Conference Committee is tasked with organizing the Council’s annual conference. Responsibilities include:

  • Planning and developing a program of conference speakers and topics
  • Developing a group of exhibitors to present products and services at the exhibition area
  • Ensuring presentations are approved for continuing education credits in relevant States and Provinces
  • Selecting appropriate locations and facilities for conference events
  • Overseeing advertising and promotion for the annual conference
  • Managing conference registrations alongside ICA Board staff to ensure both academic and financial success

Continuing Education Committee
This committee is responsible for planning and recommending educational seminars for the Pediatrics Council. Its duties include:

  • Developing periodic pediatric continuing education seminars under the Council’s auspices
  • Ensuring continuing education presentations are approved in relevant States and Provinces
  • Identifying appropriate venues for planned seminars
  • Coordinating advertising efforts for the seminars
  • Overseeing seminar registrations in partnership with ICA Board staff to ensure success

Curriculum Committee
The Curriculum Committee oversees the content and quality of the DICCP educational program. Responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing and updating the curriculum every two years
  • Evaluating class notes provided by teaching faculty
  • Ensuring course material aligns with the published syllabus
  • Collecting 25 multiple-choice questions from each faculty member for inclusion in the International College of Chiropractic Pediatrics test item database

Journal of Clinical Chiropractic Pediatrics (JCCP) Committee
The JCCP is the official peer-reviewed journal of the Pediatrics Council. The Editor in Chief, appointed by the Board, is responsible for:

  • Publishing biannual issues containing high-quality clinical research and academic papers on pediatric chiropractic practice, pre-natal, and post-natal maternal health
  • Appointing the managing editor and editorial review board
  • Communicating activities with the Pediatrics Council Board
  • The Editor in Chief is selected based on their qualifications and may serve indefinitely, with the Board retaining the authority to replace them by a two-thirds majority vote.

Membership Committee
The Membership Committee is responsible for increasing membership and recruiting new Diplomate Candidates. It achieves this through presentations at chiropractic colleges, representation at chiropractic events, and outreach at conferences and seminars. The goal is to provide membership information and encourage engagement from chiropractors and chiropractic students.

Nominating Committee
The Nominating Committee is responsible for identifying eligible active members of the Pediatrics Council who are willing to stand for election to any Board position, including President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, or Board Member. This committee plays a vital role in ensuring the continued leadership and governance of the Council.

Public Relations Committee
The Public Relations Committee promotes the goals and activities of the Pediatrics Council. The committee disseminates information to the public and the chiropractic profession through electronic news platforms and social media, raising awareness about the Council’s mission and work.

Research Committee
The Research Committee focuses on advancing the field of chiropractic pediatrics. Its responsibilities include:
  • Reviewing research on pediatric spinal care and maternal health
  • Presenting findings to relevant Council committees to keep them informed of current research
  • Recommending and directing new research studies in chiropractic pediatrics and maternal health

Strategic Planning Committee
This committee is responsible for reviewing, updating, and maintaining the governing documents of the Council, including the Constitution, Bylaws, Policy Statements, and Strategic Planning Documents. The committee ensures that these documents are current and reflective of the Council’s goals and objectives.
