Council's first bi-lingual seminar in Quebec City a huge success
The Pediatric Council's first bi-lingual seminar in Quebec City in April turned out to be a great success and very much appreciated by the French-speaking chiropractic doctors and students in that part of Canada. This was probably the first time that a seminar in chiropractic has been taught in two languages.
Teaching in French were ICA Pediatric Council's Diplomates Dr. Chantal Pinard, Dr. Sonia Morin and Dr. Chantal Doucet . All three traveled back and forth from Quebec to the US for three years to complete their DICCP . All three practice in Quebec and also serve as Assistant Professors at the University of Quebec Trois Riveres teaching pediatrics or overseeing the pediatrics clinic. Teaching in English were chiropractic's well-known pediatric practitioners/instructors Dr. Joan Fallon (New York) and Dr. Peter Fysh (California).
"The seminar was very good," said one doctor from Montreal. "We learned a lot and we hope they [Council] will come back and do another one soon because having it in French and English did make a difference. These doctors know a lot," he added.
"We were very pleased with the response from the doctors and students who attended," said Drs. Fallon and Fysh. It made the program so much more effective. We have to thank our Diplomates for taking the initiative and working with the Council to make this happen."
The Council is planning a second bi-lingual program with an expanded program and a research segment in 2006.
