ICA’s Annual Pediatrics Conference and International Symposium on the Science, Art and Philosophy of Chiropractic team up for one grand slam in the Bahamas in December.

The ICA Council on Chiropractic Pediatrics’ Annual Conference on Chiropractic & Pediatrics to be held December 12-14 at the Westin Lucaya Resort in the Grand Bahama Island is already off to a running start. Teaming up with the Council’s Conference this year is ICA/FACTS International Symposium on the Science, Art and Science of Chiropractic. A solid educational program with excellent speakers and a variety of topics, a fun Bahamian junkanoo beach party, commencement of the largest group of Diplomates in Clinical Chiropractic Pediatrics (DICCP) in the history of the profession, all at a beautiful beachfront resort in the Grand Bahama Island, promises to make the 2008 conference an exciting, enjoyable and memorable event.

Speakers in pediatrics include Andrew Wakefield, MD, Lora Tanis, DC, DICCP, Laura Hanson, DC, DICCP, Joan Fallon, DC, FICCP, Janet Cuhel, DC, DICCP, Kara Heying, OD, FCOVD, Kristie Middendorf, MSc, OTC and Jason Yusavage, DC, DICCP.

The program will focus primarily on one of the most important and controversial topics of today…autism. Andrew Wakefield, MD will give an update on the connection of vaccines and autism with his own research findings as well as that of other scientists and colleagues. DCs with experience in caring for children with autism and other health care professionals, including a doctor of optometry and an occupational therapist who co-manage care of children in the autistic spectrum with chiropractors, will also share their clinical expertise. There will be an adjusting workshop on infant exam and technique.

The conference will be held at the Westin, one of the two hotels on the Lucaya Resort. A block of rooms have been reserved at both the Westin and the Sheraton at special rates for conference attendees. For program and/or registration information and hotel reservations see below.
