Background
The Council on Chiropractic Pediatrics is one of the specialty departments of the International Chiropractors Association located at 1110 N. Glebe Road, Arlington, Virginia. Established in 1993, the Council is a membership organization designed to bring together doctors of chiropractic with a special interest in caring for children and pregnant women and providing them with opportunities, resources, and support to enhance their professional development and expand their clinical skills.
Through a Board Certified Diplomate in Chiropractic Pediatrics, seminars, and an annual conference, the Council seeks to maximize the professional fulfillment of the doctor of chiropractic who needs and/or wants to learn more about chiropractic pediatric care. The Council is committed to advancing research in chiropractic pediatrics and pregnancy and publishes the Journal of Clinical Chiropractic Pediatrics, the only chiropractic peer-reviewed journal in the world focused specifically on pediatrics. It also provides opportunities for the DC to share this vital information with paper presentations at its Annual Conference.
Through the development and dissemination of patient education materials, the Council endeavors to educate the public about the safety, efficacy, and appropriateness of chiropractic care from infants to adolescents. Through its Membership Referral Directory the Council provivdes a valuable resource for parents or women looking for a chiropractor who is either Board Certified in Chiropractic Pediatrics, cares for pregnant women, or has a family practice.
